I'm Les Larson.
For more than 30 years I've helped businesses solve difficult technology problems. My background spans software development, Windows infrastructure, networking, backup and disaster recovery, technical support, systems administration, and technical writing. I enjoy translating complex technical issues into practical business solutions that people understand.
Legacy Application Support - I have extensive experience working with existing applications, troubleshooting software problems, working with databases, and adding functionality to systems that businesses already depend upon. I am particularly interested in helping small businesses maintain existing Visual Basic and C# applications.

People and Communications
- I developed excellent people skills, allowing me to speak with management and janitor alike. I am comfortable dealing directly with decision makers, office managers, C-level and mid-level executives.
- I believe that customer service should be the highest priority in any business. I worked hard to get my clients, and harder to keep them. Many of my clients remained with me for over a decade without long-term contracts because they trusted my recommendations, appreciated my responsiveness, and knew I genuinely cared about helping their businesses succeed.
- I'm a people-person, which is not the norm in the tech industry. I understand the technology, but I really like people, too. I've often described myself as "a people-person trapped in a nerd's body". This trait has allowed me to excel at my craft *and* be able to relate to people in a way that makes them comfortable working with me. I've been told many times by clients and others that I am the only tech they ever worked with that didn't make them look or feel stupid.
- I've written installation manuals, technical documentation, user guides, and implementation procedures. I'm equally comfortable discussing technical details with engineers or explaining the same concepts to executives and end users.
Leadership - I've led small teams of technicians and software developers that I employed from time to time. We always met our objectives, delivering results to our clients in a timely manner.
Problem Solving - This is my superpower. Whether diagnosing software defects, networking problems, hardware failures, or complex interactions between multiple systems, I approach every problem methodically. I ask good questions, gather evidence, eliminate assumptions, and implement solutions that last. I don't "try" and I don't guess. I am focused, experienced and methodical.
